Entry Requirements:

Through Dissertation Programme
Bachelor’s degree with Honours or a comparable degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology or in a field related to the study;
or
Bachelor’s degree with Honours or a comparable degree in a programme consisting of Computer Science or Information Technology related courses or its equivalent;
or
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and:
-have working experience of at least three years in a profession related to the field;or
-proof of publications related to the field.or
-Diploma in Computer Science of University Malaya or a post-degree diploma in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology of another accredited institution;or
-Other qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time.
Through Coursework and Dissertation Programme
Bachelor’s degree with Honours or a comparable degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology;
or
Bachelor’s degree with Honours or a comparable degree in a programme consisting of Computer Science or Information Technology courses;
or
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a comparable degree and have working experience of at least three years in a profession related to the field;
or
Diploma in Computer Science of University Malaya or a post-degree diploma in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology of another accredited institution;
or
Other qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time.

Language Requirement
Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction.
Or
Pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.

 Programme Structure


Candidates are required to complete the compulsory coursework prepared by the Faculty, and any electives chosen by the candidate. At the end of the period of study, a dissertation must be submitted. Upon successful defense of the dissertation, the candidate will be awarded a Master degree.

The Master of Computer Science Programme offer areas of specialization in :

• Data Communications and Computer Network
• Management Information Systems
• Multimedia
• Artificial Intelligence

Candidates are required to complete their studies within 8 semesters.
